AOCS To Host Webinar on New EU Detergents Regulation on Oct. 7

Attendees will learn to prioritize what needs early attention during the transition period.

EU 2026/405 entered into force this year and will fully replace the current Detergents Regulation on Sept. 23, 2029.

Most leaders in the sector know it’s coming, but many don’t yet have a clear picture of what it will require.

The American Oil Chemists’ Society will hold a free webinar on Oct. 7 from 10-11 am CDT to help leaders in fabric and home care prioritize what needs early attention during the transition period and how the new regulation will interact with frameworks like REACH, CLP and the Green Claims Directive. The webinar will also explain newer concepts such as digital labelling and product passports in practical terms and shows how the regulation may affect biodegradability claims for polymers and films.

Ola Lilaj, regulatory and government affairs specialist at REACH24H Consulting Group, will lead the session. Lilaj has worked with regulatory authorities and trade associations. Lilaj has industry experience and background in stakeholder engagement through her work at Cefic, where she served as manager for four industry associations within the Specialty Chemicals Department, including the surfactants sector. In this role, she worked closely with industry representatives, policymakers and regulators on key regulatory and advocacy issues.
